5500's On the Web
Some may be confused as to where one signs their form 5500 or other documents
so we have provided these illustrated instructions to help. To determine which
form or schedule you have look in the upper left hand corner of any page.
Hints:
- Who signs? Generally any corporate officer can sign the 5500, for sole proprietorships it's usually the proprietor.
- All signatures occur on the first page of all forms and schedules.
- Generally a 5500 and it's attachments are all signed by the same person. The IRS often uses different terms which can be confusing but in some cases there could be a technical distinction where a different person might sign but this is rare. One notable exception is schedule B but you were linked to this web page this probably won't apply to you.
